11 More Children Die from Measles and Related Symptoms

In the last 24 hours, 11 more children have died in the country due to measles and its related symptoms. During this period, 2 children died from confirmed measles, while 9 children succumbed to measles-related symptoms.

This information was disclosed in the regular measles report by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday (May 22).

A total of 11 more children have died across the country in the last 24 hours due to measles and its associated complications. Of these, 2 deaths were from confirmed measles, and 9 were due to measles-related symptoms.

The report specified that these child deaths occurred between 8 AM on Thursday (May 21) and 8 AM on Friday (May 22).

According to the report, during the same period, symptoms of measles were observed in another 1,261 children nationwide. Since March 15, the total number of patients showing measles symptoms has reached 60,540.

DGHS data indicates that 54 new confirmed measles cases were identified in the last 24 hours. Cumulatively, 8,329 children have been diagnosed with measles in the country since March 15.

Since March 15, a total of 47,511 children with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals. Among them, 43,411 children have recovered and been discharged.

Since March 15, 414 individuals have died from measles-related symptoms, and 85 from confirmed measles. The overall death toll stands at 499.
