Bangladesh Bank Buys Another $25 Million

Bangladesh Bank has purchased an additional $25 million (2 crore 50 lakh) US dollars through an auction. This information was confirmed by Arif Hossain Khan, Executive Director and Spokesperson for the central bank, on Wednesday (May 13).

He stated that the $25 million was acquired from two commercial banks. The cutoff price in this auction was BDT 122.75 per dollar.

So far this May, Bangladesh Bank has collectively bought a total of $170 million. Earlier, during the current fiscal year 2025-26, dollars were also purchased in several phases through auctions.

Cumulatively, the central bank’s total dollar purchases for the current fiscal year have now reached $5.8435 billion (584 crore 35 lakh) or $5.84 billion.
