Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has provided ‘Eid gifts’ for the sanitation workers of the country’s thirteen city corporations on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Adha.
On Friday evening (May 22), he handed over cheques to the mayors and administrators of the city corporations at the BNP Chairman’s political office in Gulshan, the capital.
Present at the event were Local Government Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, State Minister Mir Shahe Alam, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat, Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation Abdus Salam, Administrator of Dhaka North City Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton, Mayor of Chittagong City Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Administrator of Khulna Nazrul Islam Monju, Administrator of Gazipur Shawkat Hossain Sarker, Administrator of Narayanganj Advocate Md. Sakhiwat Hossain Khan, Administrator of Sylhet Abdul Kaiyum Chowdhury, Administrator of Barisal Bilkis Jahan Shirin, along with the administrators of all thirteen cities.
Earlier in the afternoon, after performing Asr prayers at home, the Prime Minister walked to the party office in Gulshan, as stated by Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon.
He said, “Prime Minister Tareque Rahman came to the party office on a holiday to attend an event. He handed over Eid bonuses to the administrators and mayors of city corporations across the country.”
This year, during Eid-ul-Fitr, the Prime Minister had given Eid gifts of 5,000 Taka each to the sanitation workers of the city corporations.
