Dhaka-Chittagong Highway to be Upgraded to 10 Lanes

Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher has announced that the current government will upgrade the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway to 10 lanes.

He made this announcement on Saturday (July 4) afternoon while speaking as the chief guest at a public gathering organized at Cumilla Town Hall ground.

The minister stated that the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway would be upgraded to 10 lanes during the tenure of the current government. Additionally, the government has also undertaken the construction of a large sports complex, costing BDT 1,100 crore, in each divisional city, including Cumilla.

He further informed that the proposed sports complexes would feature modern facilities for all types of sports, including BKSP.

Heroic Freedom Fighter Monirul Haque Chowdhury, Member of Parliament for Cumilla-6 constituency, presented a comprehensive development report for Cumilla. Among others who spoke at the public gathering were Cumilla Zila Parishad Administrator Mostaq Mia, Cumilla Development Authority Chairman Utbatul Bari Abu, and other local leaders.
