In a statement published Monday (date unspecified) by Iran’s state news agency IRNA and Tasnim News Agency, the IRGC announced that its naval and air forces jointly launched ballistic missile and drone attacks against US troops stationed at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and against the US Fifth Fleet deployed at Port Salman in Manama, the capital of Bahrain.

The IRGC claimed that these operations were carried out in response to recent US bombing raids on five Iranian coastal locations. The force stated that any aggression against Iran’s sovereignty and security would be met with a ‘strong response’.

However, there has been no immediate official reaction from the United States regarding these attacks. Independent verification of any damage or casualties resulting from the strikes has not been possible.

This claim of attack has fueled new concerns amidst the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States in the Middle East. Analysts fear that continued tit-for-tat military actions could lead to a wider conflict across the entire region.

Previously, reports emerged of US attacks on several Iranian coastal facilities, which Tehran had vowed to retaliate against. The IRGC’s latest claim is considered a tangible manifestation of that warning.
